Pat Clark

Sterling MA Math & Computer Science Teacher

Started college as a violin/piano major at Temple University.  Switched my major to Computer Science and found it to be a natural extension to my musical training.  Obtained a BA from Temple in CS and then proceeded onto a Masters program in Operations Research (math and statistical modelling) at Cornell University,   Worked at Bell Labs for 4 years while watching IBM and Microsoft emerge as the dominant forces in the PC industry. Moved to Massachusetts and worked various software contract positions until the demands of motherhood overtook all of my time.  Taught piano lessons, played church music, tutored math, and worked at various technical jobs while being mainly a mom for several years. I eventually obtained a teaching certificate from Fitchburg State in secondary math education.  Nashoba HS hired me into the math department where I teach a wide variety of math courses (Honors Geometry, AP Calculus AB, Honors Algebra II) and Computer Science.  My current professional goals are to learn more about Bioinformatics and Image Processing Algorithms - MOOC's are great!   On the art front, I continue to take watercolor painting courses and will take a landscape painting course au plein air soon.
